Alfred University hosted a ground-breaking ceremony Thursday afternoon for a new sports complex near campus that will boost student enrollment, enhance its intercollegiate athletics offerings, and provide new recreational opportunities for the University and local communities.
Two longtime employees—Mark Lewis, College of Business dean, and Mary McAllister, corporate secretary to the University—were recognized at Thursday evening’s Board of Trustees dinner. The University’s athletics program, following the Saxon Hill Sports Complex groundbreaking ceremony held earlier in the evening, was also highlighted.
With several key representatives from the utilities industry on hand, Alfred University on Wednesday, May 8, unveiled a new facility that will be used to prepare students for careers in the growing renewable energy industry.
David Gottfried, deputy director of the Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology (CACT) at Alfred University, participated on a panel discussion held May 1 during the American Ceramic Society’s annual Ceramics Expo.
