My-AU Updates and History
-
v. 3.2 August 15, 2006
- Welcome to the *NEW* My AU site design. We have been busy this summer making major changes
to the My AU site from ideas by a great team of students. One of the major goals to be
accomplished was easy access to important information.
- To give everyone a heads up about what’s going on around campus we have added a new rotating
banner on the home page. Look here to see any important news or special events that might be
going on.
- On the home page you will also notice the press releases and campus announcements.
You can submit your own announcements
any time you’d like, but remember to make sure it’s appropriate! (We check!) In addition
to being able to submit information, we have
the option to hide this information if you don’t care to view it.
- Ever want to access your favorite bookmarks on a different computer? Now you
can have access to them on your My-AU home page by setting up
My Bookmarks in your profile.
You now have the option to customize and
submit bookmarks to
use and share with everyone everywhere.
- Speaking of customizable content, we now have an option to have customized news appear on your My-AU homepage.
Update
your customized content to get the latest news. You can choose from RSS feeds
such as:
- BBC News: Europe
- Yahoo! News
- Art News
- C|net technology news
- New York Times
- You may notice on the right-side there are highlighted features to show you some
cool things we have available. After you sign in, this area will allow you to
edit
your profile and the content of the site to fit your own style. In addition, you will
notice there are submitted links. You can even
submit a link of your own,
but you have to be logged in.
- On the left side we have included all of the commonly used quick links so you can get to where
you need to go sooner. On that note, keep in mind that Banner now known as BannerWeb and can be
located in this navigation.
- We have added a new feature to the site called “Board @ Alfred” which
appears in the top navigation after you sign in. Under this tab you can find all sorts of
ways to interact with other students. You will find information on our web boards, polls,
jobs, and you can submit your own content to the site.
