SECTION IV - STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Students are expected to respect the rights of all members of the University community. In order to protect these rights, the following regulations have been established and any violation will subject a student to judicial action. According to the gravity of such violations, sanctions up to and including suspension or expulsion from the University may be imposed.
CODE #1: Actions, behavior or threats that, if carried out, which endanger the safety of ones self, others or which cause injury to another person are prohibited.
CODE #2: Intimidation or hazing of another member of the campus community is prohibited.
CODE #8: Tampering with or misuse of fire alarms or fire safety equipment, including smoke detectors, is prohibited.
CODE #11: Knowingly providing false information to a University official or a University judicial body (including during judicial investigations) is prohibited.
CODE #12: Compromising the security of any campus building or facility, including, but not limited to, the unauthorized entry into or use of University buildings or facilities; the propping of doors or the illegal possession, duplication or unauthorized use of keys or pass codes to any University building or facility is prohibited.
CODE #13: The unauthorized sale, possession, purchase, or use of any explosives, fireworks, incendiary devices, dangerous chemicals or use of open flame is prohibited.
CODE #15: Possession or use of weapons on property owned, affiliated with, or controlled by the University or where University events are occurring is prohibited. The definition of weapons covers all items capable of inflicting serious injury, including but not limited to: firearms, knives, air guns, spear guns, paint guns, bow and arrow, sling shots or explosives. This includes items which are legally possessed, but used in a manner that harms, threatens or causes fear.
CODE #19: Failure to comply with a legitimate, reasonable and lawful request or directive of a University faculty, staff, administrator or other employee, or someone acting on behalf of the University and/or failure to identify oneself to these persons when requested.
CODE #20: Violation of any general University policy, student life policy, residence life policy, federal, state or local law is prohibited.
CODE #21: All students may host guests and visitors in accordance with the University’s Guest Policy, provided that no rights of another student are infringed upon. Each student is responsible for the actions of his/her guest or visitor and may be held responsible under the student judicial code for if his/her guest’s or visitor’s actions would violate any University policy if the guest or visitor was a member of the University community.
