SECTION X – MINIMUM SANCTIONS

1. The circumstances of an incident may warrant sanctions in addition to the minimum noted.  Standard minimum sanctions that address specific policy violations include, but are not limited to, the following:

a. Any violation or attempted violation of University policies and procedures which is bias-motivated may result in a more severe sanction than would ordinarily accompany that violation;

b. Physical assault shall result in suspension from the University.

2. Violation of the student code of conduct and/or the Alcohol Substance Use & Abuse Policy:

a. First offense may result in referral to an alcohol education class, a $50 fee is charged to cover the cost of the class which can be paid in cash or charged to the student account, and parental notification of dependent students not yet 21.

b. Second offense may result in referral to an alcohol education class, a $50 fee is charged to cover the cost of the class which can be paid in cash or charged to the student account, a ten-hour service contract and parental notification of dependent students not yet 21.

c. Third alcohol/drug offense or a combination of the two may result in suspension.
