SECTION XIV – NOTIFICATION OF PARENTS OF JUDICIAL ACTION

• The dean of students shall notify the parents of students under the age of 21 who violate the University substance use and abuse policy.  The notification will occur once the imposed sanctions are final and the appeal process has been exhausted.

• In judicial cases that involve a serious threat to ones physical safety or the physical or emotional safety of others, the dean of students or designee may notify the parents of dependent students.

• Also, if as a result of violating the student code of conduct the student is suspended or expelled, the dean may contact the student’s parents.
