To provide safety and security within Harder Hall and other School of Art & Design spaces, closing time for all students without late night passes will be:
HARDER HALL
- Sunday – Thursday close at 2:00 AM
- Friday – Saturday close at 12:00 midnight
- Specific shops or labs will continue to close at 12:00 midnight seven days a week, and will be posted accordingly.
BINNS MERRILL HALL [FOUNDRY AND GLASS STUDIO], SCULPTURE AND LIGHT ANNEX, AND THE COHEN ART CENTER
- Close at 12:00 midnight
Students working late are expected to be in their respective studio/laboratories, or in the immediate area, and to not prop open doors or let anyone in after midnight. For reasons of safety or security, some spaces are locked earlier than the official closing times.
SCHOLES LIBRARY
The current hours for Scholes Library are posted each semester on the front entrance door of the Library.
The purpose of this closing policy is to ensure the safety of individuals using the facilities, to protect both College equipment and student work and to allow time for cleaning by the custodians. If any student is found in a School of Art & Design facility after closing times, the following notification will be enforced:
A first discovery in an academic year will be reported to the dean’s office.
A second discovery in an academic year will be reported to the dean’s office and the student affairs office, and student affairs will send a warning letter to the student.
A third discovery will be reported directly to student affairs and will result in disciplinary action.
