The Center for Academic Success provides free tutoring support to Alfred University students in a wide variety of disciplines. Tutors are typically undergraduate or graduate students who have been recommended by faculty members and who have done well in the target course.
A variety of courses at AU are supported by drop-in tutoring. Drop-in tutors hold regular hours each week, during which students can stop by to work through difficult course material, study for exams, and get assistance with homework. The drop-in tutoring schedule is updated every semester. Please view this semesters drop-in tutoring schedule here.
Areas Supported by Drop-In Tutoring:
Math Lab provides tutoring for all math courses and is open Monday-Thursday from 6:00pm - 9:00pm in Myers 107.
When there is no drop-in tutoring or Supplemental Instruction for a course or if a student needs more support, they can request an individual tutor. Students can meet with their individual tutor up to three times a week at mutually agreeable times. Individual tutors can work with students on understanding and organizing course material, as well as developing study skills. To request an individual tutor, fill out the Tutor Request Form and drop it off to the CAS office or email it to us.
