The Center for Academic Success provides free tutoring support to Alfred University students in a wide variety of disciplines. Tutors are typically undergraduate or graduate students who have been recommended by faculty members and who have done well in the target course.
A variety of courses at AU are supported by drop-in tutoring. Drop-in tutors hold regular hours each week, during which students can stop by to work through difficult course material, study for exams, and get assistance with homework. The drop-in tutoring schedule is updated every semester. Please view this semesters drop-in tutoring schedule here.
Areas Supported by Drop-In Tutoring:
Math Lab provides tutoring for all math courses and is open Monday-Thursday from 6:00pm - 9:00pm in Myers 107.
Individual/Small Group Tutoring
When there is no drop-in tutoring or Supplemental Instruction for a course, they can request an individual tutor. Students can meet with their individual tutor up to three times a week at mutually agreeable times. Individual tutors can work with students on understanding and organizing course material, as well as developing study skills. To request an individual tutor, please come to the CAS office to fill out a Tutor Request Form. It can take several weeks to be matched with an individual or small group tutor, so requests should be made early in the semester. Tutor requests are not accepted the last three weeks of classes.
