How and when are refunds
Refunds based on excess credits are made payable to the student and issued automatically after the end of the add/drop period if all payments and financial aid are finalized. Refunds will be available by direct deposit (if set up) or in the students’ Powell Mailbox as they are processed.
Refunds based on Parent Plus Loans are automatically refunded and mailed to the Parent unless the parent indicated on their PLUS loan application or has provided written information (for each term) that the refund should be made payable to the student.
When are late fees charged?
Late fees are imposed on an account if the balance is not paid or settled through other sources by the billing due date. Other sources may include financial aid or signing up for a payment plan by the billing due date.
I have a private scholarship/alternative
loan/Parent Plus loan and it is not in pending credits.
Alternative loans, plus loans and scholarships are not guaranteed so they never show in the pending credits until approved, or actual payment is made. If you intend to pay the balance with any of these, you must contact the Student Service Center to arrange to clear you account based on this information. Keep copies of all applications and scholarship letters for proof.
What is MPP?
MPP stands for "My Payment Plan," our option to set up a payment plan within the CASHNet system. Click here to learn more about MPP.
I have been charged
for student insurance and am already covered by another policy.
All students are required to have insurance and are initially charged. If you are covered by another policy, you need to complete the waiver on-line before the start of the semester. When the waiver is submitted your account will be credited for the insurance charge. Questions concerning insurance should be directed to the Student Health Center at 607.871.2400.
