VPN
What is a VPN?
A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a method used to add security and privacy to network communications. VPNs are most often used by corporations to protect sensitive data. At Alfred, we are using a VPN to allow users to access services that we do not want to be accessible by the whole Internet.
Do I need to use a VPN?
If you currently use Remote Desktop to access your work computer from off-campus, you will need to install and use the VPN client. The VPN client will also give you access to all other Alfred services as if you were accessing them from on campus.
