Understanding Student Type

Student Types used only once when first admitted: These students become continuing students after their first semester.

N = New undergraduate student

T = New undergraduate transfer student

G = New Graduate (new or transfer student)

Student Types for returning students:

R = Readmit: Mainly students who stopped out or withdrew at one point and wish to come back and continue.

P = Post Baccalaureate: Student (rare and with approval) are coming back for a second bachelor’s degree.

Q = Post Graduate:  Student is back for additional graduate work. 

Other Student Types:

H = High School student

U = Non-Degree student

V = Visiting Student

X = Exchange program student

Y = Student who is cross registered with affiliated RAC institutions such as Alfred State.

C = Continuing students.  All students who continue on past their first semester at Alfred.
