An Alfred University student who earlier this year completed a project to improve the scoring/timing systems in the McLane Center swimming pool has repurposed part of an old scoreboard, converting it into a clock that is counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until 2026 Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 16.
The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announces that two Alfred University students have received Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards for the 2026-2027 academic year. Michelle Seo, who earned an M.F.A. from Alfred in 2025, will be going to South Korea to pursue an independent research project. Lily Janik, a senior at Alfred who will graduate May 16, was awarded an English teaching assistant grant in Taiwan.
On Monday, April 27, Alfred University and the Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship announced an agreement on a new degree program. Eligible students who graduate from the institute’s certificate programs get the option to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration or business analytics at Alfred.
A group of students in the Contemporary Business class (BUSI 106) at Alfred University developed an original fragrance spray they say will give consumers who use it confidence while pursuing their goals.
