Bicycle Friendly University

Welcome to Alfred University - now go enjoy our great outdoors! The Bike Hub at Alfred University launched in the Fall of 2009 and is entirely run and staffed by students. 20 hybrid bikes are available for rental by students, faculty and staff, along with helmets and bike locks. You can also get your bike repaired and store your bike over the breaks, for a nominal fee.

Bike Rental Prices

Standard Bikes
$12/weekend (Friday – Sunday)

Premium Bikes
$15/weekend (Friday – Sunday)
Not available for monthly rental

A bike lending agreement form will required by each lender to read and sign. You are welcome to fill it out in advance and bring it with you.

Bike Storage:
We offer storage for the winter and summer breaks for $20 to students, which includes a FREE tune-up! Please stop in or email for more information.

Basic Bicycle Service:
We offer free basic service to students. Parts are not included, and more detailed service is subject to fees. Email or stop by for information or an estimate.

Bike Donations

Want to Donate a Bike?
We are happy to accept used bikes in good condition. Donations are tax deductible and you will be mailed a gift receipt.

About the Saxon Bike Hub

The Saxon Bike Hub was created through the initiative of student co-founders, Senior Ian Cramer and Sophomore Jay Price, and was funded by AU Student Senate. Thanks also to The Bicycle Man, our local resource for great bikes and maintenance, and all the great faculty and staff who support the program.
