AU received $1,046,994 in HEERF II Student Share Grant funds.

Once eligible students were determined, AU determined a base grant amount using a formula of dollars available versus number of eligible students. All students received the initial base grant amount. AU then split all eligible students into four different buckets based on their EFC range and awarded an additional amount on top of the base grant (lower EFC indicates highest need). Those within the lowest EFC range received the base grant plus an additional amount equal to 100% of the base grant, those within the second lowest EFC range received the base grant plus an additional amount equal to 75% of the base grant, those within the third lowest EFC range received the base grant plus an additional amount equal to 50% of the base grant, and those within the highest EFC range received the base grant plus an additional amount equal to 25% of the base grant.

Students who were initially deemed eligible to receive an award from HEERF II student share grants were sent an electronic communication on March 31, 2021 indicating that awards would be distributed the week of April 12, 2021 and that no further action was required of them to receive their award. Additional guidance was posted on the AU HEERF II webpage and updated frequently as eligibility was being finalized.
