At Alfred University's Wellness Center, a diverse team of professionals works collaboratively to support well-being, recognizing wellness as the foundation for health, personal development, and achievement.

Location

The Wellness Center is located at 19 Park Street in Alfred, on the corner just past Herrick Library and the Saxon Inn.

Hours

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-4:30 pm. The Wellness Center is open for care when Alfred University is in session.



If you are experiencing a medical emergency:

Call 911 if you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency. Medical transport is provided by the Alfred Ambulance at no cost to students. 

Call Public Safety at 607-871-2108. Staff is trained to assess for emergency medical needs.

Appointments

Appointments are required for all counseling and medical services, with the exception of urgent mental health situations that require immediate support to ensure safety to self and others.

To schedule an appointment, please call the Wellness Center at 607-871-2400 during regular business hours. 

Please notify the Wellness Center as soon as possible if you become unable to keep any scheduled appointment.

The Wellness Center offers the following services to all students:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Crisis Support Services
  • Psychiatric Services
  • Consultation with parents, faculty, and staff
Office visits to the Wellness Center are free of charge, except for psychiatric visits. Minimal fees apply for lab tests, injections, medical supplies, specialized treatments, and medications.


Patient Portal

Access Alfred University’s Medicat Patient Portal

The Wellness Center has launched a browser-based patient portal which allows students to conveniently manage their health information with the Wellness Center. The portal offers the following services for students:

  • Exchange messages with the Wellness Center safely and securely through HIPAA compliant messaging system.
  • Upload health and immunization records.


Confidentiality

The Wellness Center staff is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of all clients, both ethically and legally. No information about a student's visit will be disclosed unless:
  • It is necessary to save a life
  • The student provides consent
  • A court order is issued
  • Disclosure is required by law
