Professional Licensure Disclosures

Per U.S. Federal Regulations, §668.43 (2019 Rule), and in compliance with the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) Manual version 21.1, Alfred University must provide a disclosure regarding educational requirements for professional licensure or certification. This disclosure is intended to share Alfred University’s determination of whether the programs below, if successfully completed, would meet the requirements for state licensure.

This disclosure does not guarantee that any individual state licensure entity will approve or deny an application. Students seeking licensure are encouraged to contact their state’s licensure entity to determine the requirements of that state.



Students who successfully complete Alfred University's program in Athletic Training will be eligible for the Board of Certification exam. Upon passing the BOC exam, individuals will meet the educational requirements for seeking licensure in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

After making all reasonable efforts, Alfred University is unable to determine whether its educational program curriculum in Athletic Training, if successfully completed, sufficiently meets the licensure requirements in the state of California.

Information on State Regulations and Agencies is available from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).

Students who successfully complete Alfred University's program in Education will meet the educational requirements to seek New York State Teacher Certification.

After making all reasonable efforts, Alfred University is unable to determine whether its program curriculum in Education, if successfully completed, sufficiently meets the licensure requirements in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Graduates who successfully complete Alfred University's MBA in Accounting will have successfully met the educational requirements for certification as Certified Public Accountants in New York State.

After making all reasonable efforts, Alfred University is unable to determine whether its curriculum in MBA – Accounting, if successfully completed, sufficiently meets the educational requirements for licensure in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii,Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Students who successfully complete the State Education Department approved program in Mental Health Counseling will meet the requirements for eligibility for the Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York State.

After making all reasonable efforts, Alfred University is unable to determine whether its educational program curriculum for the MS Ed/ CAS in Mental Health Counseling, if successfully completed, sufficiently meets the licensure requirements in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Students who successfully complete the program in School Counseling meet the educational requirements for licensing as school counselors in New York State.

Alfred University’s School Psychology Doctorate program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and accredited by the New York State Psychology Licensing Board and the New York State Education Department. Students who successfully complete this program will meet the educational requirements for licensure in New York State as licensed psychologists or certified school counselors.
