Cascade CMS

Cascade CMS is our content management system we use to maintain and edit our websites here at Alfred University.

Manage & Edit AU Website(s)

A Content Management System (CMS) is a tool for creating, editing, deleting and publishing Web pages. Alfred University has recently implemented a CMS called Cascade Server by Hannon Hill. This tool has been implemented to phase out & replace our previous CMS tool, Adobe Contribute which is no longer supported or used.

Benefits of Cascade

  • You can access & update content anywhere, even off campus! No need to install any additional software. Off campus access does require you to VPN though.
  • Cascade is responsive. You can even update content from your mobile device!
  • Cascade will automatically notify you & email you if something needs your attention and when your updates are published out to the website.
  • You can create more complex layouts without all the work. All you have to do is enter the content and the cms will generate more visually complex looks like accordions, checkerboards, sliders, etc for you.

Accessing Off Campus

A recent update now requires you to first VPN into the Alfred Network before you can access cascade.alfred.edu if you are off campus. VPN is a simple and easy process. Just install the software, login with your alfred credentials, and click connect.
