During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, Alfred University will observe the following holidays:

**The following four holidays are included in this time period to make it possible to close for a total of 8 days.
- President's Day
- Martin Luther King's Birthday
- Veteran's Day
- Columbus Day
It is University policy to allow paid time off up to ½ day for personnel to observe one major religious holiday each calendar year.
Personal Day & Floating Holiday: These days may be taken any time during the calendar year (anniversary year for Statutory employees); all such days are subject to supervisor approval.
Vacation Time: these days must be taken in half day increments; all days are subject to supervisor approval.
Sick Time: These days may be taken in 1 hour increments to attend medical appointments. A doctor's statement that an employee is physically capable of resuming normal duties will be required following hospital admission, surgery or absence of more than three (3) consecutive workdays due to illness.
Note:
- Fall Semester: Classes begin Monday, August 28, 2023 and semester ends Friday, December 15, 2023
- Spring Semester: Classes begin Tuesday, January 16, 2024 and semester ends Monday, May 6, 2024
